A CONSTANT DANGER, MYCOTOXINS

Invetsa, together with its representative Biomin, gave a talk on “the reality of mycotoxins in Latin America and their impact on intestinal quality”. The event was held at the facilities of the Business Tower Hotel located in San Borja and was attended by specialists and businessmen from the national poultry and pork sector.

The speaker in charge of developing this talk was Dr. Alexandro Marchioro, a veterinary doctor in preventive medicine and a researcher at the LAMIC mycotoxicological analysis laboratory at the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil.

Marchioro stressed that one of the fundamental causes of this disease is due to climate change and extreme weather events, which can lead to new pollution profiles. This leads to greater attention to masked and emerging mycotoxins, since these conditions cause changes at the GIT level, drastically reducing the animal’s ability to digest and absorb. At the end of the event, Dr. Ricardo Pereira, manager of Biomin for Latin America, highlighted the strategic alliance that he has had with Invetsa for more than 16 years in the fight against diseases that harm the poultry sector.
