SOUTH AMERICAN SCIENTISTS DEVELOP ANTIBIOTIC FOR FISH

South American scientists develop antibiotic for fish

With the aim of promoting South American aquaculture, scientists from the National University of San Marcos, in Peru, and the Autonomous University and the CEAZA Scientific Center, in Chile, have been working together to combat bacterial diseases that usually occur in fish production. trout. This novel antibiotic has been worked on based on molecules of a protein that is found in the same study fish.

This research as a whole is due to the fact that Peruvian aquaculture is growing and this brings with it health problems, morbidity and a higher mortality rate in breeding. These obstacles were already present in Chilean aquaculture, due to being one step ahead of the Peruvian: it is for this reason that both groups of South American scientists decided to unite in order to find solutions to these difficulties.

At Invetsa, we have a catalog of innovative products that facilitate and optimize fish farming in our country. Some of the selected products are part of the AquaStar line, made up of selected bacterial strains with superior probiotic and biodegradation properties:

  • AquaStar® Hatchery to improve the production of hatchery larvae.
  • AquaStar® Growout to improve production in later growth phases.
  • AquaStar® Pond to improve pond water management.
  • AquaStar® PondZyme to improve pond bottom and water quality in intensive farming conditions.

In addition, we offer Digestarom, a product focused on stimulating food and contributing to better digestion; and Biotronic px top 3, which enhances the antimicrobial activity of organic acids and phytochemicals against Gram-negative bacteria.
