Skin wounds in horses represent one of the most frequent events in the horse clinic, and the damage caused to their extremities can be the most difficult to treat. The product used in that study was ALANTOL.
ALANTOL is a healing ointment indicated for horses, in the treatment of skin lesions, accidental or surgical wounds, abscesses, decubitus excoriations, surface ulcerations and burns. Its allantoin component promotes the chemical debridement of proteins, which keeps the wound free of purulent secretions and dead tissues, stimulating epithelialization and cell proliferation; its zinc oxide component acts as a powerful astringent, healing and drying agent.
